Here we GO!

So, I was at the store tonight until 11-ish pm, resetting the floor for Fall. This year, I'm featuring women's on the main wall and the men have the left hand rails. It looks pretty good (if I do say so myself...and I do. HA).

Every year, part of my job is to become clairvoyant; to predict the weather 9 months ahead of time (when orders are due) and divine what weekends and what time the games will be played because that information is always last minute. This year, I have failed miserably at all of this soothsaying.  Last year, it was 90 degrees nearly every day through September, and night games were rare.  I booked a lot of cold-weather items to arrive in that month, only to have to listen to people say they couldn't possibly think about buying long sleeved things and at the end of September, when the bills were due and I had sold almost none of it, things got ugly.

This year, I didn't book any cold weather to arrive before the middle of the month, having checked the Farmer's Almanac and it said "HOT". And what is happening? It's 50 degrees at night. Our first TWO GAMES are AT NIGHT. When it's COLD.

I give up. I give up every year.  I've ordered the wrong items. I've ordered the wrong sizes. If I have enough Mediums, this year everyone will be a size Large. If I ordered enough pieces in Large, everyone will need Extra Larges.  It's absolutely maddening. I'm trying to take it easy on myself, but as a perfectionist, it's hard to remember I'm NOT a psychic and I can't do everything right because no one can actually predict the future. We just make our best guess, cross our fingers and make a wish.

Trust me that cold weather gear is coming, and at least it will be warm in the daytime for all these tee shirts I've ordered. Come by and shop. It's going to be an interesting season!
