Summer is a comin' in

This weekend marks not only the start of a new life for Marshall grads, it's also the start of a long quiet summer for downtown Huntington. The students leave, people start their vacations, and days get longer and slower.

With these changes, downtown businesses step into the two-and-a-half longest months of their lives: a town missing a considerable portion of the population. Most of us prepare by trying to keep a little rainy day fund on hand, but it's still a bit of a challenge, made evermore so by *gestures broadly* the economic uncertainty we are all facing.

Keep us all in the back of your mind for your shopping and dining experiences. You may hear tales of merchandise shortages at the Big Box stores, but us smaller guys and gals are prepared for whatever the Universe is going to throw at us. We're faster and more flexible and we're all determined to ride this out with as little disruption as possible.
